Why Buy a Wrong Money Skateboard Deck?

Why Buy a Wrong Money Skateboard Deck?

We get it, there are a thousand boards out there. Big brands with pro names, shop blanks with no names, and everything in between. So why are we carrying Wrong Money Skateboards?

Because they’re not just another board. Here’s the story.

The Find

I was digging through Facebook Marketplace one day looking for deals. Part research, part treasure hunt, part trying not to spend too much gas money. That’s when I saw boards with graphics I didn’t recognize. Wrong Money Skateboards.

Never heard of it. No website. No press. Nothing.

So I did what I always do... started digging. Came up empty. Which meant I had to go straight to the source.

Meeting Brandon

That’s how I met Brandon, the guy behind Wrong Money. Turns out he had his own crew riding his boards, he was grinding (literally and figuratively) to build something, and he had that skater-to-skater generosity you don’t see every day.

We linked up at Alief Skatepark. He brought his decks, I brought some Cypress Grind wax. We swapped gear, skated a bit, talked about the headaches of running a skate business.

I left the park heavier than I came in...  5 Wrong Money decks, a fresh pair of iPath shoes, and Tensor velvet trucks. That’s the kind of guy he is; he just hooked it up.

The Boards

That’s when I realized Wrong Money wasn’t just another Marketplace hustle. These decks are legit:

  • 7-ply maple construction
  • Epoxy glue press for stronger bonds and longer pop
  • Twin nose shape so riding switch feels natural
  • Medium concave so right in the sweet spot for control and flick

They’re built to skate, not to sit pretty on a wall.

Why Wrong Money Over Other Decks?

Shop blanks? Sure, they’re cheap, but you don’t know what you’re getting.
Big brands? You’re mostly paying for the logo.

Wrong Money sits in the middle. Real boards with real construction, made by a guy who actually skates, and backed by a story that hasn’t been washed out by corporate branding.

Plus, every Wrong Money deck sold here at Cypress Grind Co ties back to that day at Alief. To the connection between two skaters trying to push something forward.

Wrong Name. Right Board.

If you want a board that’s pressed solid, skates hard, and comes with a story, Wrong Money’s got you.
We’ll keep it stocked. You just need to grip it, set it up, and go make your own wrong money.
